We are born to serve a purpose. We each have something to fulfill. We each are striving to do something - something worthwhile, something different, something revolutionary even.
Most people start looking to serve that purpose after high school, after college, or when they get their first job and they're not sure what they're really doing. Then there are entrepreneurs. People who are born knowing they want to more than do something - they want to make something. They have a gnawing feeling in their soul, in the back of their mind. They start looking to serve a purpose from as young as they can remember. Don't get me wrong. Entrepreneurs come in all shapes and sizes. By this I mean all ages and time-frames. Some entrepreneurs get this gnawing feeling as a kid. Some get it much older when they've tried to do something they thought they wanted, only to realize differently. For people like me, I'm the former. It's something I believe I was born with. It's not something I can shake. It's not something I can change, or drop what I dream of doing, and succumb to circumstance - the gruelling day-in, day-out job. I came across the term 'entrelancer', which I'm sure you can guess is a combination of the words entrepreneur and freelancer. I'm not sure who coined it but it's perfect. It's a new community for the not simply 'working-from-home' easygoing freelancers but the freelancers who act as CEO, CFO, CMO, in their own little enterprise. Whether you're a small business owner or a freelancer, you know this mindset. If it's one thing that's for sure, it's that it never stops. That gnawing feeling. That push. It never settles. It never quiets until it is heard. For some, it's an idea to try out and if it doesn't work out, ah well. But this fight is for the slow and steady. The patient. The consistent. The persistent. The pusher. The I-can't-stopper. Because that's just it. Entrepreneurship - it's a 24/7 thing.
